MATZAH & MIRACLES THEATRE KIT
THE STORY: Another Passover? Another Seder? The Lerner kids, Ariel and Benjamin, think it's the most boring holiday ever! In the opening number, they yearn for “gefilte fish that swim away” and suggest that “matzah balls should fly right out of Mama’s pot!” Their "Bubbe" steps in to tell them the story that every Jew around the world tells at their Passover table... but in a magical, musical way. Bubbe transports the children back in time to ancient Egypt where they experience first-hand the liberation of the Hebrews from slavery. Shocked to find themselves embodying Moses and his brave sister, Miriam, Benjamin must confront the Pharaoh to “let my people go” and Ariel leads the Hebrews through the parting of the Red Sea. Once returned to the present, the Lerner kids (and audience members alike) will forever remember the story of Passover and the importance of its holiday traditions!
